China Reduces Buy Cashew Nut Kernels From Vietnam

In the first quarter of 2022, China reduced its imports of cashew nut kernels from most of the main suppliers, except Myanmar and the Ivory Coast. Data from the Chinese Customs Administration shows that the country’s cashew imports from Vietnam reached $25.85 million, down 6% compared to the first quarter of 2021. Vietnam’s cashew nut market share in China’s total imports decreased from 95.62% in the first quarter of 2021 to 76.27% in the first quarter of 2022.

In March 2022: According to statistics from China Customs, this country imported cashew nuts with a total turnover of 8.2 million USD, up 23% compared to February 2022 and up 16.9% compared to March 2021. In the first quarter of 2022, China’s cashew imports reached 33.9 million USD, up 17.8% over the same period in 2021.

Cashew Market share of Myanmar and Ivory Coast Increased

Meanwhile, the cashew nut market share of Myanmar and Ivory Coast in China’s total import turnover has increased sharply over the same period in 2021, accounting for 18.51% and 4.97% respectively in the first quarter of 2022.
